Mark and Norma Guge
Estherville, Iowa, farmers, Mark and Norma Guge of Guge Family Farm have set the example that cattlemen and farmers can adopt practices compatible with soil conservation and wildlife management. The Guge family has been farming in Iowa for more than a century, and Mark and Norma continue the tradition, raising cattle in their pastures and feedlots and crops on 830 acres. The Guge family has worked with the Iowa Lakes Controlled Grazing project and the Leopold Center for Sustainable Agriculture at Iowa State University to improve and sustain the natural resources of their farm.
